NM Governor Reaches Deal on Albuquerque-Mexico Flight

      Gov. Bill Richardson has negotiated an agreement with AeroMexico to provide direct flights from Albuquerque to Cuidad Chihuahua, Mexico, an Albuquerque airport spokesman said.
    "They reached an agreement. However, there's still all the details to be worked out,'' said spokesman Daniel Jiron.
    Jiron said issues that need to be finalized include customs procedures, gate space and counter space.
    Mexico City-based AeroMexico would use Brazilian-made Embraer jets that hold 50 passengers.
    The flight would be the second attempt in the past year to connect Albuquerque's airport with a Mexican destination.
    In December, Frontier Airlines began flying to the resort town of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, from Albuquerque.
    But Frontier spokesman Steve Snyder said high fuel costs and the Denver-based firm's pending bankruptcy means it will cease the Puerto Vallarta flight June 14.
