State EIB Holds Hearing in Farmington on Emissions

Associated Press
FARMINGTON — The New Mexico Environmental Improvement Board is hosting a public hearing in Farmington today on proposals to limit greenhouse gas emissions in the state.
The commission is considering unique petitions that it may consider adopting into law.
The Santa Fe-based environmental advocacy group New Energy Economy in 2008 petitioned for a cap and mandatory annual reductions of greenhouse gas emissions from power plants and oil and gas operations.
Comments up to three minutes long will be taken by a hearing officer and transcribed for review by commission members.
