Highway Funds Can Start Flowing June 20

Associated Press
SANTA FE — State transportation officials said the Federal Highway Administration has approved upgrades to New Mexico's billing system, allowing federal money to flow again.
The Federal Highway Administration in April told the state Department of Transportation agency it was suspending reimbursement to New Mexico for federally funded road projects.
The concern was that the state's billing reports didn't comply with a format agreed to by federal and state officials more than a year ago.
New Mexico Transportation Secretary Gary Giron said Tuesday the state has made the necessary upgrades, successfully demonstrated system changes to federal officials and received authorization to implement them.
Giron said changes will be made this weekend.
