Hobbs Firefighter Accused of Stealing Drugs

Associated Press
HOBBS — Authorities say a Hobbs firefighter has been arrested for allegedly stealing prescription drugs from homes.
New Mexico State Police said 46-year-old Thomas Thomlinson was booked Wednesday into the Lea County Detention Center and charged with five counts of burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
Thomlinson is accused of taking prescription drugs from homes he went to on medical calls, according to State Police.
Authorities said Thomlinson would respond to residences in the Hobbs area and while there, he would see if any controlled substances were around. He allegedly would return later — posing in his prior line of work as a fumigator — and take the medications.
