LAS CRUCES — Police say they have arrested a Las Cruces man who allegedly fired a handgun from his car toward a vehicle occupied by three people.
Police said 18-year-old Christopher Michael Sanchez is charged with three fourth-degree felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of shooting at or from a motor vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Witnesses called police after the Wednesday afternoon incident and gave a description of the shooter's car. They said an officer stopped Sanchez and detained him for questioning and he was subsequently arrested.
Sanchez was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center, where his bond was set at $20,000.
