Sandia Park Soldier Killed in Iraq

      An Army soldier from New Mexico has been killed in a roadside explosion during combat operations in Iraq, the U.S. Defense Department says.
    Sgt. Joel W. Lewis, 28, of Sandia Park, and five fellow soldiers died Sunday when an improvised explosive device blew up near their vehicle in Baqubah, the department said.
    They were assigned to the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division at Fort Lewis, Wash.
