NMSU President To Interview for Chancellor Post at LSU

Associated Press

LAS CRUCES — New Mexico State University president Michael Martin has agreed to a series of interviews and meetings for the chancellor's job at Louisiana State University.
But Martin says he won't make a final decision until he returns from his visit to the Baton Rouge campus next week and meets with NMSU regents.
LSU announced Thursday that Martin is the sole finalist in the search for the school's next chancellor.
NMSU regents Chairman Robert Gallagher says Martin has been one of the most outstanding leaders the school has had in its 115-year history. But he says other universities' interest in Martin shows the caliber of NMSU's presidents.
The LSU search committee is expected to meet May 23 and decide whether to recommend Martin for the post.
