New Mexico Woman Named to Federal Advisory Panel

Associated Press
SANTA FE — A New Mexico Environment Department official has been named to a federal advisory committee on implementing an environmental cooperation pact to the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Karen Gallegos, who is director of the Environment Department's water and waste-water infrastructure development division, will serve a two-year term.
The committee — also known as the NAFTA Environment Side Accord — provides advice, information and recommendations to the administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The 12-member committee includes representatives from state, local and tribal governments.
