District Attorney in Santa Fe Charges Man With Vehicular Homicide in Teen Deaths
Associated Press
SANTA FE — The district attorney has charged an Eldorado man with four counts of vehicular homicide and one count of causing great bodily harm in the deaths of four teenagers last June.
Scott Owens remains locked up in the Santa Fe County jail.
The 29-year-old Owens was allegedly in the wrong lane of Old Las Vegas Highway just after midnight on June 28 when he ran into a car carrying five Santa Fe teens.
Authorities said Owens' blood-alcohol content nearly four hours after the crash was 0.16 percent, twice the level of presumed intoxication in New Mexico.
