N.M. Revokes More Towing and Trucking Permits
Associated Press
SANTA FE The operating permits of about seven dozen trucking, towing and other transportation companies have been revoked by the state Public Regulation Commission.
The agency announced Tuesday that it revoked the permits this week because the companies failed to file appropriate documents with the commission.
The commission has taken action on a total of 381 companies since May 5.
The commission says state law makes it unlawful for any motor carrier to operate within the state without having filed and maintained proof of its financial responsibility.
If the companies put on notice this week continue to operate in violation of state law, they face a penalty of up to $10,000 per day for each violation.
