Roswell Teacher Accused of Sex Crime

Associated Press
ROSWELL — A Roswell first-grade teacher is on paid leave after being indicted on a charge of criminal sexual contact of a minor.
An Eddy County grand jury indicted Richard Becker, 41, earlier this month in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 10, according to state district court records.
Becker is free on $10,000 bond after his arrest April 12.
He is to be arraigned Monday before state District Judge Freddie Romero.
The Roswell school district's assistant superintendent for personnel, Cory Butler, declined to comment, saying officials cannot comment on personnel matters.
