New Mexico Business Weekly Publisher Resigns

Associated Press
The New Mexico Business Weekly's publisher has resigned and a general manager has been named until a new publisher can be appointed.
Sherri Wells, 52, resigned after her second arrest on charges of domestic violence on her ex-husband.
The publication's parent company, Charlotte, N.C.-based American City Business Journals, announced her resignation Monday on the Business Weekly's Web site.
Business Weekly Editor Nancy Salem will serve as general manager until a new publisher is found, the parent company said.
Wells had been on an indefinite leave of absence since shortly after her second arrest on Sept. 12 on misdemeanor charges of battery on a household member and criminal damage to property.
A criminal complaint in that case alleged she punched her former husband and pushed his adult son at her Albuquerque home. The complaint also alleged she threw soiled cat litter over the son's freshly laundered clothing and scrawled "loser" on military memorabilia.
She had been arrested June 1 on a misdemeanor charge of battery against a household member. In that incident, police alleged she hit her former husband, Thomas Wilson, 53, then blocked the garage with her car to stop him from driving away.
Wilson had been charged May 9 with battery on a household member against Wells, according to court records.
The pair were divorced in June 2006.
