SHIPROCK Three people have been arrested in connection with a triple slaying on the Navajo Nation, but a fourth suspect is at large and considered dangerous, the FBI said.
The FBI warned Navajo Nation, New Mexico and Arizona residents that Michael Johnson, 26, of Shiprock "may be armed and should be considered extremely dangerous,'' according to a news release Sunday.
Darcy Manus, 22, of Shiprock, and Chuck Nahkai, 29, of Beclabito, were arrested Saturday at their homes, the FBI said. Eugina Cowboy, 22, of Shiprock, was arrested earlier this week, the FBI said.
The four have been charged with first-degree murder, firing a weapon to further a violent crime, aiding and abetting the commission of offense against the U.S. and distributing a controlled substance on the Navajo Nation.
They are accused of shooting Bobby Wayne Fulton, 22; Lars Yazzie, 18; and Vicki Benally, 26, execution-style near the Hogback Chapter House just east of Shiprock last Monday.
Cowboy is accused of luring Fulton and his companions to a place near the chapter house where Johnson, Nahkai and Manus were hiding in the bushes along the roadside, according to court records.
She also is accused of giving Fulton methamphetamine on the Navajo Nation, the records said.
Residents reported hearing gunshots and police responded to find the bodies in and near a bullet-ridden car.
