Española Woman Pleads in Tax Evasion Case

Associated Press
SANTA FE — An Española woman has pleaded guilty to 11 counts of unauthorized computer use and one evasion count in what authorities said was an effort to evade New Mexico income taxes.
Ana K. Vivar entered a plea agreement Friday in state District Court.
She was accused of embezzling more than $120,000 from Del Norte Credit Union. The tax evasion charge resulted from Vivar's failure to report the fraudulent proceeds on her 2005 and 2006 state taxes.
Prosecutors said Vivar used her position at the credit union to open and access accounts in relatives' names.
