LOVINGTON Money laundering and conspiracy charges have been filed against a Lovington city commissioner already charged with fraud.
Hobbs police Capt. Donnie Graham says David Trujillo has been charged with money laundering over $50,000 but less than $100,000 and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Graham says Trujillo was released on bond shortly after surrendering Wednesday.
Trujillo had been arrested Nov. 8, 2006, on six counts of fraud over $250. He also had been arrested Aug. 23, 2006, on 29 counts of fraud over $250.
The charges stem from an investigation into phony orders for cleaning supplies at the College of the Southwest in Hobbs.
Trujillo had worked in maintenance and repair at the college's physical plant and later as an admissions specialist.
