Bradbury Named Interim Director
City Manager Robert Romero has appointed Jim Bradbury, chief executive officer of Santa Fe Hospitality Group and former general manager of La Fonda, as interim executive director of the Santa Fe Convention and Visitors Bureau, according to a City Hall announcement.
Bradbury will take over for Keith Toler, who resigned last month, citing unspecified differences with Romero.
"Jim has the experience, drive, and initiative that this position requires in promoting Santa Fe and bringing large groups as well as individuals and families to our city," Mayor David Coss said in the news release.
Bradbury's salary as interim director is $108,000 per year, with no other benefits, according to Romero.
"I look forward to working with him while we complete our search for a permanent CVB executive director," Romero said.
Bradbury has been CEO of Santa Fe Hospitality Group since 2008. According to the company's website, the firm is a "travel advisory service." It says Bradbury is a certified hotel administrator with more than 30 years of "senior hospitality management expertise in properties ranging from high-line chains to one-of-a-kind historic boutiques."
Bradbury "is a bi-lingual, multi-generational New Mexican, who is a collector and supporter of the arts and is a world traveler," according to the City Hall release.
Aamodt Settlement Meeting Planned
The parties to the agreement settling the long-running Aamodt water rights case will hold a public meeting from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today at the State Capitol in room 307 to discuss the settlement, which was recently approved by Congress.
All individuals involved in the case, which involves water users in northern Santa Fe County, are encouraged to attend.
"It is essential for the parties to conduct these open meetings to ensure that transparency is being addressed," County Commissioner Daniel Mayfield said in a news release.
The parties will give an overview of the settlement implementation. Additionally, proposed changes to the settlement agreement needed to conform to federal legislation will also be discussed. Time will be allotted to address questions from those in attendance.
More meetings are planned. According to Mayfield, "It is critical that residents involved in and affected by the settlement have an opportunity to voice their comments."
The implementation process will include the establishment of a board for a regional water system that will be built using federal, state and local funds and planning for construction of a water delivery system.
Santa Fe County will post upcoming meeting dates on its website: www.santafecounty.org.
