    St. Francis Bridge Work Resuming
    Maintenance work on the St. Francis Drive bridge over St. Michael's Drive will resume today, according to the state Department of Transportation.
    Starting today, right lanes on St. Francis on the bridge will be closed, one direction at a time. Each right lane will be closed for about a week during the two-week project.
    Cancer Institute Fundraiser Feb. 7
    The Cancer Institute Foundation is holding a fundraiser Feb. 7 at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center.
    The event, which begins at 5 p.m., features a raffle, silent auction, live auction, wine and dinner by Peas 'n Pod. Admission is $34.
    Paul Margretson, auctioneer, and Ali MacGraw, honorary chairperson, will emcee the event.
    Up to 200 items, with values from $15 to $5,000, will be auctioned, including jewelry, vacations and private dinner parties.
    All money raised will stay in northern New Mexico. The Foundation has helped cover food, lodging and transportation costs for people who travel many miles to receive cancer treatment in Santa Fe. It also provides support groups, free prostate screenings and other cancer-related services.

    Arts Commission Offering Funding
    The Santa Fe Arts Commission is accepting applications for funding through the Special and New Projects Program of the One-Percent Lodgers Tax and the Community Arts Development Program.
    Arts Commission funding is provided to nonprofit arts organizations presenting programming in Santa Fe from July 1 through June 30, 2010.
    Application information and forms are available on the Arts Commission Web site at www.SantaFeArtsCommission.org. The deadline for applications is March 4.
    Organizations considering applying for funding are strongly encouraged to contact the Arts Commission before submitting an application.
    The staff is available to ensure that an organization and a project are eligible for funding, as well as to provide guidance regarding in which funding category to apply.

    Arts & Crafts Show Applications Sought
    Girls Inc. of Santa Fe, the nonprofit dedicated to empowering girls, is accepting applications from artists and craftspeople to participate in the group's 37th annual Arts & Crafts Show, Aug. 1-2 on the Santa Fe Plaza.
    The show is a juried event. More than 30,000 visitors attend each year.
    The application deadline is April 15.
