    Justice With Conscience
    He began practicing law in 1960. He defended Reies Lopez Tijerina in the state's infamous courthouse raid trial. He served as a state district judge for six years and a Supreme Court justice for 12. He was both a presiding judge and chief justice. He helped create the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission, worked with the state's high school mock trial competition for 20 years and served as a judge advocate for the National Guard.   (Saturday, November 07, 2009)
