Speak Up!

REGARDING THE article "Dem Lawmaker Not Afraid To Buck Party," House Speaker Ben Lujan said "he was disappointed Democrats didn't stick together." I am so sick of this Democrat vs. Republican rhetoric. It's tearing this country apart. — M.S.
SO, NOW ALL the retreads, the same people who got us in our present predicament, are crawling out of the woodwork in a bid to get the upcoming empty Senate seat. Can't we do better than this? — W.E.B.
REGARDING THE article, "Guns Still Pouring Into Mexico Despite U.S. Efforts," my math calculates 365 days times 2,000 guns per day at 730,000 guns per year. Does anyone believe that? — T.J.G.
THE FIVE-FOOT bicycle rule is a joke, especially when these idiots are riding on the white line left of the bicycle lane. When I was a kid we needed a license plate on our bicycles. If you did not adhere to the rules it was a $10 fine. The biggest rule was to dismount and walk your bike across the intersection. Now cyclists don't even stop at intersections. — J.B.
THE LEGISLATURE has more important issues to address other than debating whether to approve 10 a.m. Sunday serving of liquor or to allow dogs at restaurant outdoor patios. These issues detract from the time available to debate important issues, such as the state budget and driver's licenses for illegals. — J.A.T.
ARE THE Wisconsin protesters really so gullible they believe Michael Moore has their interests at heart, not just his own? — J.K.
COULD SOMEONE please explain to me why the Albuquerque school superintendent, who already makes five times as much as an average teacher, needs a housing allowance from APS? — J.B.
IF TEACHERS gave the taxpayers the respect they deserve, there would be no unions. — A.M.
WHY DOESN'T the state know how much the movie companies are paying in salaries? Don't they have to file W2 or 1099 forms with Taxation and Revenue? Those numbers should match what they claim. — B.C.
THE STATE has invested approximately $209 million in the spaceport. Virgin has done the same. They have obligations for approximately $82 million. Is that considered a good return for the investment? Especially when they don't even leave the atmosphere? Guess it's like the Rail Runner serving approximately 4,000 riders. — J.E.H.
LET ME GET this straight — the secretary of education has a business degree, her deputy secretary of education has a corrections background, and the superintendent of APS wants to drug test students. Shouldn't these people be running the prison system instead of New Mexico schools? — C.K.
RIO RANCHO is now in the red-light camera business. It's really not about safety. It's just a money grab to help fund the city's runaway spending. — G.P.A.
