Municipal Elections Scheduled for March 2

          Municipal elections will be held March 2 in the town of Bernalillo, the village of Corrales and the city of Rio Rancho. Residents of those communities must be registered with the Sandoval County Clerk to vote in order to cast ballots.
        The deadline for voter registration was Tuesday.
        Absentee voting began for all three municipalities on Jan. 26. Voters can request an absentee application from the town, village or city clerk's office in their respective community. The final day absentee ballots can be mailed out is Feb. 26. Absentee ballots may be mailed in or hand delivered to the clerk's office by 7 p.m. on March 2.
        Beginning Feb. 10, early voting will available during regular office hours at the clerk's office in each of the communities.
        Bernalillo
        Mayor Patricia Chávez is seeking re-election. Running against her are Brian Muniz, Jack Torres and town councilors Eddie Torres III and Marian Jaramillo.
        Running for a town council seat are Steven Baca, Mark Lopez, Dale Prairie and Councilor Santiago Montoya.
        Bernalillo polling places
        Voters in Precincts 1 and 3, and portions of Precincts 2 and 4 must vote in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 829 Camino del Pueblo.
        Voters in Precincts 50 and 74 must vote at the Alegria Community Center, 901 Cottonwood Circle in the Santiago subdivision off N.M. 528.
        Call the town clerk at 771-7128 for precinct boundary information.
        Corrales
        Mayor Phil Gasteyer is running unopposed. The District 1 race will pit Ennio Garcia-Miera, Joseph Stefan and James Davis Jr. against each other. Mickey Harper and Al Gonzales are the contestants for the District 3 seat. John Alsobrook II is running unopposed for the District 4 seat he currently holds.
        Corrales polling places
        District 1: Fire Station, 100 Paseo Tomas Montoya
        District 3: Historic Old Church, 966 Old Church Road
        District 4 and 6: Corrales Recreation Center, 500 Jones Road
        Districts 2 and 5: Main Fire Station, 4920 Corrales Road
        All districts will vote for mayor; Districts 1, 3 and 4 will vote for their respective district candidates.
        Rio Rancho
        Mayor Thomas Swisstack is seeking re-election. Former Mayor Jim Owen is running against him.
        Councilor Patty Thomas is seeking re-election to the District 2 seat. Her challengers are Frederico Cardenas and Paul Valles.
        Incumbent Tamara Gutierrez is running against Denny Muzzey for the District 3 seat.
        Tim Crum is running unopposed for the District 5 seat.
        In the municipal judge race, Robert Cook, Rodney Gabaldon and Jeff Hartman are running against incumbent James Walker.

        On election day, voters will be able to cast their ballots at any of the following locations:
