Still Plenty To Do at Libraries

There is still plenty of time for residents to sign up for the summer reading programs at the Loma Colorado Main Library, the Esther Bone Memorial Library and the Star Heights Learning Center, but all programs wrap up by the middle of July.
Some of those programs include:
n The "Read-To-Me" program, which is all about Curious George, is for children ages 3-6 at the Loma Colorado Library.
The "Be Creative At Your Library" program is for children going into kindergarten through sixth grade and is held at either Loma Colorado or Esther Bone.
Students in grades seven through 12 can sign up for "Express Yourself at Your Library" at any of the three Rio Rancho library locations.
â– The Star Heights Learning Center has programs geared to tweens and teens including, "Computer Demolition" at 2 p.m. Friday, "Rock Art" on June 26 and "Altered T-shirts" at 2 p.m. June 30.
â– No registration is required for the summer reading program for adults. All you have to do is pick up a summer reading log entry form at either Loma Colorado or Esther Bone.
Other upcoming events include:
n The Boulder Acoustic Society appears at 6:30 tonight at Loma Colorado. This is a free ticketed event, so call the library at 891-5013, extension 3030, to secure a ticket.
â– June 22: Musician John Grant plays at 10 a.m. at Esther Bone.
â– June 24: Gypsy storyteller Terry Alvarez plays at 11 a.m. at Loma Colorado.
â– July 14: Acoustic Cajun band Alpha Blue plays July 14 at Esther Bone. Call or stop by to receive a free ticket.
