Buyer Broker Pacts Are Win-Win
Q: I just started working with a Realtor to find a house, and they want me to sign a buyer broker agreement. I'm not sure if I should do this. What if I don't like them or I find the house myself on the Internet?   (Thursday, July 02, 2009)

Wheels for Meals
Roadrunner Food Bank's year-old program to bring food to needy communities got a windfall Tuesday. Smith's Food and Drug Stores presented Roadrunner representatives with a check for $40,000 toward buying a semi-truck/tractor. Think Before You Cosign
Q: My daughter is trying to buy a home with her fiance but has run into some major roadblocks in the application process. It seems that she doesn't qualify with him on the loan because of several judgments and collections against him from about three years ago. She also does not qualify on her own because she's recently self-employed and her job history is too short. So, she has asked me to cosign on the loan. I'm strongly considering doing this, but I'm nervous. She's doing very well in her career and I want her to get this house but her fiance's bad credit worries me. Should this be a concern to me, or should I just go ahead with this loan? What should I do?   (Thursday, June 25, 2009)

Right Now Is a Great Time To Buy House
Question: I've been planning to buy a house and got really excited when interest rates went so low. Now they've jumped up a bit, and I'm wondering if I should wait to buy something and see if they go down again. What do you think?   (Thursday, June 18, 2009)

Never Be Pressured To Buy
Q.: I need your honest opinion on something because I don't know who to trust right now. In the past 10 years, I went through some really hard times personally. I got in trouble with drugs and the law and spent a couple years in prison. Since then, I've gotten my life together and have now been clean and sober for three years. I finished my bachelor's degree last year and am now working on my master's degree. My credit history, of course, was terrible, but I've also been working to get that cleaned up. My question to you is: Do you think I'm ready to buy a home or should I wait? I'm worried sick that I'm going to screw up again and lose everything. I'm working with a decent Realtor, but all she wants me to do is make an offer on every home we see. The guy that pre-qualified me is also bugging me to lock something in right away because rates are going up. What should I do? This is making me crazy.   (Thursday, June 11, 2009)

Offer Less on House, See What Happens
Q.: I've found a house I really like, but I just don't know what to offer. Everyone is saying to offer way less than asking price, but I don't want to lose the house. What should I do?   (Thursday, June 04, 2009)
