To apply for the 2010 SAGE Making a Difference award, you must be a high school senior graduating by May 2010. (It's OK if you are a superstar who graduated a little early.)
   Your complete application package must be received by March 26. Use the following checklist so that you make sure you have everything. Incomplete applications will be disqualified.
    - This application form
    - A 500-word essay about who you are, how you are making a difference and why it's important to you. (If you are submitting online, it is a good idea to write your essay off line, then cut and paste it into the form on this page.)
    - A 300-word letter from someone nominating you for the award. Click here for that page.
   Remember, someone must nominate you - a teacher, adviser, priest or pastor, employer or volunteer activities coordinator.
   If your nominator prefers to mail the letter of recommendation, he or she must mail it to:

   In it, describe some of the projects you have been involved with that have been most meaningful to you.
   What did you believe you accomplished? How did you know you had made a difference? What motivated you to take it on?
   Did you have to make sacrifices, go the extra mile? Did you find it was harder than you expected -- or did you find just the opposite, that one motivated person can rally many others to help? How did the experience change you? What did you learn about others? About yourself?
   Who inspires you? Who believes in you? What have you learned from them?
   What kind of person do you see yourself being as a young adult?
