Making a Difference 2010
Nominate dedicated teen for SAGE award

These are challenging times to be growing up.
Among studying hard, working smart and imagining a better future, New Mexico teens have a lot of demands.
Yet many are dedicated not just to improving their own lives, but also to selflessly working to make their schools, churches and communities better.
SAGE magazine wants to recognize high school senior girls who embody the qualities of character and compassion. If you know a girl who is graduating from high school this year, please nominate her for the 2010 Making a Difference award.
The award is sponsored by the Albuquerque Journal’s SAGE magazine, local businesses and the National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation.
Winners receive gift certificates from local businesses and are honored at a special spring luncheon at NHCC’s La Fonda del Bosque featuring a keynote address from a prominent New Mexico woman.
    How to enter
Applications must include a nomination letter, not to exceed 300 words, and an essay, about 500 words, written by the nominee about what she’s doing to make a difference and why. Guidelines to get you started on writing your essay are on the online form, which you may access by clicking below.
Submit applications by mail or online by March 26. Mailing address is 2010 SAGE Making a Difference Contest, P.O. Drawer J, Albuquerque, NM 87103. For information, call 823-3870 or go to abqjournal.com/sage/
