♦ JB, YOUR NEGATIVE comments about the recent Lobo accomplishments don’t make sense. All top 25 rated teams lose games. That does’nt mean they can’t come back and have success. Seems to me you are a pessimist and are not a Lobo supporter. UNLV beat both North Carolina, #1 at the time and Illinois #19 at the time. San Diego State has deafeated three top 25 teams but I guess that means nothing to you. Take a break and keep your comments between you and your uninformed friends!! Go Lobos!!!

♦ JUST LIKE CLOCKWORK after big wins some knucklehead will try to show that he and he alone is cognitive of the fact the Lobos are not as good as we Lobo fans think they are. So it’s JB’s turn to step forward and mock the Lobos with his assertion that beating SDSU and UNLV was no great accomplishment. That the two teams were overrated and thus the wins were no big deal. That he somehow can see through all the hype and make a completely lucid observation — then eloquently state his conclusions to enlighten us Lobo fans with his wisdom. Well JB — your thesis is flawed in so many ways that I can only attribute it to the nonsensical ravings of a lunatic mind or to an Aggie.

♦ I FEEL SORRY for those people who are always searching for a negative in any situation, even when it comes to the soaring, conference leading Lobos. If the Lobos were to defeat North Carolina they would point out that the Tar Heels are a terrible team because they lost to lowly UNLV. These people will never be satisfied and life must be painfully difficult for them.

♦ INTERESTING COMMENTS last week from some members of the media regarding Lobo Basketball: A local radio talk show host stated that the ‘face plant’ taken by Philip McDonald from a San Diego State player was “a basketball play” (it was a ‘bush league’ play). After the UNLV game, a TV news reporter spoke of “The Final Four” (don’t want to get too carried away). A TV news anchor stated that “the Lobos beat their butts” (classic).

♦ JB, I KNOW that you are a native New Mexican, I know that you have Lobo Pride,..sorry you took a beating with your bookie by betting against UNM. That will teach you!

♦ JB IS PROBABLY being facetious and seeking attention but I felt compelled to respond regardless. The fact that the Rebels and Aztecs have been struggling on the MWC road recently is not a knock on either of them and doesn’t tarnish the overall MWC RPI one iota. These teams losing in conference play just shows how strong the MWC is from top to bottom and those road wins by UNM at Wyoming, Air Force, and Boise St are looking pretty impressive right now as there are no gimmies on the MWC road. One thing I will agree on though is that yes indeed UNLV will favored at home in the MWC Tourney as it’s definitely an advantage for them to have that tourney in Las Vegas every season. Go Lobos!!

♦ GIVE ALFORD and company some credit! The win against UNLV means that the NIT won’t be coming to town this year to shake down the locals.

♦ ONLY 3 WEEKS until the NCAA regionals and you still cannot get wi-fi in the Pit (lobo-guest and lobo-wifi don’t work). Folks from all over the country will be here for hours and they will want to see scores and games of other teams in their conference. There is time to fix this (VERIZON and UNM I’m looking at you). C’mon Man, get some wi-fi in the Pit NOW!

♦ BRAVO TO THE MWC-CUSA merger. Hopefully, the new league will add Utah State, San Jose State, New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech. Utah State and SJS could join the west division (MWC). NMSU and La. Tech could participate in the east division (CUSA). That would bring the proposed league to 20 schools. I like the new conference name of either the Big XX or the Big USA. There is strength in numbers.
