Saturday: Scott Van Slyke homered and later plated the go-ahead run with a bases-loaded walk as the Isotopes pulled out a 4-2 win over Nashville at Isotopes Park. It was their third straight victory and seventh in eight games.
Matt Angle’s double and three straight walks — the last to Van Slyke — gave the Isotopes a 3-2 lead. Jeff Baisley followed with an RBI single.
Wilfredo Ledezma (1-2) pitched one perfect inning of relief to get the win, and Josh Wall worked the ninth for his seventh save. Starter John Ely allowed two runs in 6 1-3 solid innings.
This and that: Seventy-five Little League teams in uniform paraded across the Isotopes Park warning track prior to Saturday’s game. An additional 43 teams made the circuit Friday night.
