Saturday: In Des Moines, Albuquerque banged out 15 hits in routing the Cubs 9-1. Iowa had 11 hits but managed only that single run against Isotopes starter John Ely (7-4) and three relievers. Albuquerque second baseman Alex Catellanos led the attack with three hits, including a sixth-inning homer.

Josh Vitters led the way for Iowa with four hits and a run scored.

This and That: Four Albuquerque pitchers struck out 10 Iowa batters on Saturday and walked none. … Jerry Sands, Josh Fields and Luis Cruz had two hits apiece.
