Friday: The Isotopes committed four errors that led to four unearned runs in host Colorado Springs’ 6-3 win. Albuquerque dropped three of four in the series and saw its lead in the PCL’s American Southern Division cut to two games over New Orleans, this weekend’s foe at Isotopes Park. Sky Sox reliever Coty Woods struck out Scott Van Slyke with two Isotopes on base to end the game. Van Slyke homered in the eighth. Will Savage (10-6) was the loser, though only two of the four runs he yielded in five innings were earned.

This and that: Since joining the ‘Topes on Aug. 12, Tony Gwynn Jr. has batted .421 (8-for-19) with two RBIs.
