Walk-on quarterback Ryan Trujillo, a former Manzano star, has been reinstated to the UNM football program by coach Bob Davie.
Trujillo was dismissed from the team after his arrested on domestic-violence charges in January. The charges were dismissed in June, after Trujillo completed an early intervention program.
Davie said after Tuesday’s practice that Trujillo has earned another chance.
Elsewhere: Senior quarterback B.R. Holbrook, who’s recovering from a chest inflammation, threw a few passes before practice, wearing a t-shirt and shorts, but then was sent in by Davie on a hot afternoon. There’s still no word on a date for Holbrook’s return, but Davie has said he’s optimistic that he’ll be ready for the Lobos’ Sept. 1 opener against Southern.
