♦ HERE’S TO a VERY successful Lobo football season! Thank you to the 23 seniors that persevered through 3 wasted seasons before this season and for the effort and never-say-die attitude of the whole team. Coach Davie is the right coach to lead this program to heights not seen here before. We, as fans, have to be patient as coach Davie builds this program and gets us to some bowl wins in about 2-3 years. In DAVIE WE TRUST!

— CML, Lobo Alum

♦ RICK WRIGHT sure has a way with words, “Last-Minute Loss.” Aside from an occasional win against ArtiscoTech and Christina Kent Day School, the Bolos have been a “Last MinuteLoss” since Day 1 and a constant squandering of taxpayer money. But not to worry, the Bolos will surely invite themselves to their annul Bolo Bow! Rick, where do you get your seemingly un-ending supply ofrose-colored glasses?

— The Original And Genuine Robert, Albuq

♦ BY THE WAY, I’m sick of this SEC is superior. Ever look at who they schedule non-conference? None of them schedule more than one legitimate non-conference game. Alabama: Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Western Carolina they also played 4 opponents – Arkansas, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Auburn, who finished the season with losing records. Georgia wasn’t much better: Buffalo, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech and Missouri, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Auburn as sub 500 conference opponents. So when people tell you that the SEC is head and shoulders above everybody else, remember that their top teams play at most 4-5 games per year against high level competition. In contrast, every team on the Irish schedule is from an automatic qualifier conference, save Navy and BYU which are independent. And the Irish faced 9 teams that finished 500 or better. GO IRISH.

♦ WE BASKETBALL season ticket holders would sincerely appreciate any effort to fix the audio system in the Pit so that we can understand the words from the announcer. Sincerely,

— Lobo Fans
