♦ DAVE IN RIO RANCHO … Yes, I did listen to Mike Roberts for his entire 40+ year Lobo play-by-play career….And enjoyed every minute of it. (For old time’s sake, how about this one: “the Mountain West Conference official came clear across the court to make that call against New Mexico.”) As for the Lady Lobo foul shot differential (29-3 in favor of UTEP), if that happened in the Pit on the Lobos’ side of the ledger, even the most ardent UNM fan would have to say that would be outrageous.
— Joseph ♦ THE MONSIGNOR must be very sports illiterate. He, most likely, gets on here because no one else would want to listen to such empty remarks. He should crawl back under his rock and continue thinking he knows about sports. And, take the “Realist” with you, since you both know squat about sports, you should have good sports illiterate conversations. — Leroy V ♦ DEAR “THE MONSIGNOR,” “Biggest fraud in the ratings?” “Possible four-game losing streak?” You were saying? I love being a Lobo fan. — RIDIC- DUKE CITY ♦ DO YOU KNOW what you get when you cross a Dude with a Realist? You get a real dud that knows very little about college basketball. — D ♦ “THE MONSIGNOR”, fits to a tee the speakup contributors that UNM Alumnus was referring to although he was completely right on Nate Wolters. That kid works his butt off and is deserving of everything he has earned as its much easier getting notiriety at Duke or Kentucky than it is at South Dakota State or for that matter New Mexico. Wolters has earned everything that he has and congratulations to him. Yes people please do us all a favor and just shut up as the newspaper has got to used for something better than criticizing and ridiculing student athletes who are only guilty of only making a positive contribution towards society. How about we save the criticism for the pros as they are paid for it or yes Dave, the Division one officials as they are also paid very well. Yes officials should expect criticism and a 26 to 3 foul discrepancy does indeed warrant criticism! — The Critic ♦ THIS IS FOR the “Dude”, “Realist” and “Monsignor”. Your gregarious outbursts about the quality of the LOBO basketball team is so negative that I wonder what your life must be like. Any pearls of wisdom to share after the LOBO win over Cincinnati?? Can’t wait for the whining!! — Chuck A., West Side ♦ CINCINNATI DOES not deserve to be #8! They would not survive in the MtWest! — el lobo ♦ GREAT WIN LOBOS at Cincy! Great coaching Steve Alford! Hey there the realist, the dude, the monsignor. Why don’t you guys go into hibernation the rest of the winter. We’ll wake you in the spring. Maybe your commentary will make sense then, when nothing of interest is going on. If not, maybe you 3 can star in the sequel of “the 3 stooges”. — the genuine lobo fan m.sedillo ♦ A NUMBER OF years ago, when cable television was coming to Albuquerque, the local stations warned us that cable would be the end of free television. Well, if you’ve looked for a college bowl game on local TV, you’ll see they were right. W.E.B. To all who say that Steve Alford and The Lobos are toast and the rest of the season lost…….BOO!!!!!!!!!!! Now go away. — MAL, Albuquerque
