I WANT TO clarify something here!! The Albuquerque Sports Journal had a small write-up about Austin Trout being arrested for public intoxication several days ago at some restaurant or bar!! Austin was simply minding his own business when a fight ensued at the next table!! Customers in the restaurant got up from their tables including Austin Trout and tried to stop the brawl!! In the middle of it all Austin was mistaken as one of the suspects of the fracus and was subsequently arrest by police!! Once police realized that Austin was in fact a customer just trying to contain some sort of civility there, he was released and charges were dropped!! Austin Trout is the Junior middle weight champion of the world and he would never jeopardize his reputation or status as a world champion!! I hope someone at the journal sports department has sense enough to correct this misinformation! Austin Trout just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time!!

I CERTAINLY AGREE with “Herb” that Sports Speak Up be confined to comments from the sports world. However, the comment that Dallas has no heart, Hispanics, El Paso, etc., etc., is very troubling. Teams from the Dallas area winning championships have displayed incredible heart in their play. Most recently, Dirk Nowitzki, about ten years ago, Mike Modano and then there’s a guy named Tom Landry that Herb might remember coached “Americas Team”. I don’t think he had any problems with heart.
