WE’RE NOW seeing the Lobos & MWC on “real” national TV after years of woeful Mtn.TV. It’s also nice seeing the new football divisions named Mountain & West and divided as I’d said. I agree partially with the idea of the championship in San Diego like the MWC hoops tourney in Vegas. But, San Diego has the NFL, bowl games, golf, boating, fishing, and the beach, etc.! Who wants to see Utah St. vs. CSU? Some BCS conferences can fill neutral site stadiums, but having it at the best MWC team should help fill a MWC stadium. The MWC future is improving (even in hoops)!

I DON’T KNOW if Phil (Mickelson) is more upset about keeping just 37% of HIS money that HE earned, or watching the other 63% flushed down the toilet.

SOME PEOPLE have suggested that it is envy that has driven people to criticize Phil for his remarks about taxes. I think, rather, it is a question of class, or a lack thereof. I may be “old school”, but the professional golfer I have always admired the most is Arnold Palmer. The King would never insult his hard-working fans by complaining that he could not make it on 14 million dollars, which, by most estimates of golfers’ incomes, is what Phil would have left after paying that 63%.

FIRST IT WAS Rodney and Jack berating Phil for being a success. Now we have Tim Dahlberg, this snarky little AP sports writer lambasting Phil. I can’t believe these people are so offended by a person who got wealthy as a result of his own talent and hard work. I guess they would be happy if Phil was taxed at 100% and stood in line for an Obama phone and food stamps.
