n IN WHAT COULD have been a possibility of a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament, a National top (10) ranking, the discussion now ends, due to the loss at Air Force. However, the Lobos still have a chance to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, aka Sweet 16. Lobos have all the WEAPONS to make it happen.

n CONGRATULATIONS to Coach Alford, MWC Coach of the year award, Kendall Williams, player of the year award. Snell, Kirk, Greenwood & Bairstow also received honors. Lobos received all of the top MWC awards- after all, the New Mexico Lobos are the back-to-back defending MWC Champions. Again, an absolute thing of beauty!

n IT WASN’T Kenny Beach on the famed Viking team that faced Norm Casey and Larry Dillow, it was David Beach. He was joined by Leroy “Hub” Hood, Sam Calderon, Tony Castillo and Henry Saavedra. The old Warren Smart Gym was rockin’.
