♦ I’M GLAD WE got a 3 seed instead of a 2. Coach Alford is probably already on it, but can you say “Lack of Respect” and “Motivation!”

— Chris Maxwell, UNM ’05

♦ SNELL’S BULLSEYES. Jamal’s over-the-shoulder save. Williams’ 360 slam. Chad shutting down Bennett. On CBS! The season could end right here and it’d be one for the ages.

— Doug

♦ LET US ALL now forget what a wonderful season we all had, not just the lobos, but every other school who thinks they are the best team in the USA. All the complaining about seeds and our RPI and BPI and rankings are better than yours should all be gone. This coming Thursday the ball will be tossed and the 2013 version of March Madness will be under way, and in three weeks we will all know who the hottest team will be, might not be the best, but it will be the hottest team in the tourney. No RPI, BPI, SOS will make a difference, just get hot at the right time and wear the ring.

— JB

♦ TONY SNELL, also known as the silent assassin & the rest of our Lobos & coaches, what a phenomenal performance in the MWC tournament. We are the back -to- back defending MWC tournament champions. It was absolutely smashing to see the Lobo Nation take over the Thomas and Mack Center, absolutely picture perfect. Congratulations Lobos, WE ARE NEW MEXICO !

— Die hard lobo fan

♦ AFTER ATTENDING 4 of the 5 days of the state basketball tournament at the Pit, I came away with one very distinct impression: the students of the participating schools were generally very well-behaved … but the ADULT fans of the schools were generally disgusting. What happened to cheering on your team? Instead we got adults launching constant, unrelenting personal attacks on opposing players. These are unpaid athletes… KIDS, 16, 17 years old…or younger! I wouldn’t want to leave out those adults who constantly ridiculed their own team, they were disgusting as well. You folks need to get a life: high school basketball is small potatoes in the overall scheme of things.
