Patriots silent on Gronkowski injury
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The New England Patriots say they don’t have any comment on published reports that tight end Rob Gronkowski has an infection in his broken arm that could keep him out into the season.
The Boston Herald reported on Sunday that Gronkowski has an infection in the area where a metal plate was installed to repair his left forearm. Doctors will have to wait for the infection to go away to replace the plate, and Gronkowski would need 10 weeks after that to recover, the paper said.
JETS: Darrelle Revis needs to participate in the Jets’ voluntary workouts beginning next week, according to a clause in his contract, to collect $3 million in bonuses he’s scheduled to earn. The star cornerback, the subject of trade rumors, has been rehabilitating his surgically repaired left knee in Arizona, but is expected to report to the team’s facility in Florham Park, N.J., for the start of the Jets’ offseason conditioning program next week.
Djokovic leads Serbia over U.S.

“If I wasn’t playing for Serbia, if I didn’t have my teammates’ support, I don’t know if I would’ve played,” Djokovic said. “The first half hour it was very painful.”

Air Force stops UNM baseball
COLORADO SPRINGS — Air Force handled the New Mexico baseball team 11-4 on Sunday.
The Lobos (16-15, 8-4 Mountain West), however, took two out of three in the series and remain atop the MWC standings.
It was only the second loss the Lobos have suffered to Air Force in 23 games under head coach Ray Birmingham.
Lobo golf team fourth at ASU
TEMPE, Ariz. – The third-ranked University of New Mexico men’s golf team will have to settle for a lesson learned.
UNM struggled for the second consecutive day, shooting a 4-over 288 Sunday to end up in fourth place at the 18-team ASU Thunderbird Invitational.
Senior John Catlin and sophomore Gavin Green kept the Lobos within striking range, each shooting 2-under 69s during Sunday’s final round.
New Mexico State finished 10th.
Vasquez loses in USA title bout
SPOKANE, Wash. — Las Cruces’ Ayanna Vasquez lost by unanimous decision Saturday to New York’s Christina Cruz in the elite women’s division 119-pound championship bout at the USA Boxing National Championships.

AGGIE BASEBALL: In Las Cruces, Dallas Baptist (17-15, 5-4 WAC) turned back New Mexico State 12-10 in 10 innings Sunday at Presley Askew Field. The Aggies fall to 18-15, 4-5.
MLS: In Bridgeview, Ill., Maicon Santos scored twice and Daniel Paladini had a goal and two assists to lead the Chicago Fire to a 3-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Sunday.
