Lobo QB Vega Sues APD

Lobos quarterback David Vega has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court, alleging false arrest and false imprisonment by APD stemming from an Aug. 26 incident that resulted in his suspension from the team for the entire 2012 season.

Vega was arrested early that morning and charged with underage drinking and concealing his identity. Those charges were dismissed on Feb. 11. Coach Bob Davie reinstated Vega to the team on Feb. 26.

In the lawsuit, Vega alleges that APD officers Yoki Maurx and Michael Harrison entered his house illegally, then pressured him and three roommates to sign consent forms after the fact. According to the lawsuit, Vega’s refusal to sign the consent form was the sole reason for his arrest.
