MEN'S BASKETBALL UNM's Neal Had Job Discussions

By Mark Smith
Journal Staff Writer

University of New Mexico associate head men's basketball coach Craig Neal told the Journal on Wednesday that he had had discussions with the Milwaukee Bucks about their assistant coach openings, but he wants to stay with the Lobos.
The Chicago Tribune, however, reported Thursday that Neal was no longer a candidate because he "couldn't get out of his college coaching contract." Milwaukee head coach Scott Skiles then decided to hire Jim Boylen.
Previously this offseason, Neal unsuccessfully tried for head coaching jobs at Toledo and Missouri State.
