Searchable Business Database Online

Journal Staff Report The New Mexico Economic Development Department Web site has expanded to include ePortNM, a searchable database of state business licenses, permits and applications.
Visitors to the Web site, www. NewMexicoDevelopment.com , can click on ePortNM and fill out an online questionnaire about the kind of business they want to license. The Web site responds with a list of the permits needed.
The database contains 326 licenses, permits and certifications issued by the state. Of these, 141 can be downloaded with the help of Adobe Acrobat Reader, available without cost at www.adobe.com.
For those not available online, names and phone numbers are provided.
To contact the department to give or receive more information, call 827-0288, or contact lisa@edd.state.nm.us.
At ePortNM, one can also find a database of government agencies, description and contact information; business start-up information; and a listing of business services and technical assistance in New Mexico.
At this point, the Web site only includes information about state permits. City, county and federal permits must still be applied for separately.
