By David Steinberg
Of the Journal
David King Dunaway discusses and signs the new revised and updated edition of his book “How Can I Keep from Singing: The Ballad of Pete Seeger” at 3 p.m. today at Bookworks, 4022 Rio Grande NW.
The book is the official biography of Seeger, a longtime folk singer and political activist who was the subject of a PBS American Masters program titled “Pete Seeger: The Power of Song.” The book draws on hundreds of exclusive interviews with Seeger, his family, friends and fellow musicians as well as on thousands of pages of FBI and CIA surveillance documents that were declassified after the filing of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.
