Nibbles

By David Stenberg
Journal Staff Writer
I ordered two deli sandwiches at the Keller store on Eubank — a turkey pastrami with Swiss cheese on seeded rye and a smoked turkey with Monterey jack on whole wheat. Both came with lettuce, tomato and red onion ($6.25 each). I ate the turkey pastrami and my wife had the smoked turkey.
Stout and tasty, they were accompanied by sliced pickle, a small side salad (mine with the Keller's coleslaw, my wife's the potato/egg salad). I cannot fail to mention the treat of the double olives speared with toothpicks into each half of the sandwiches.
Looking for inexpensive add-ons, I bought two dolmas — aka stuffed grape leaves (33 cents each) — and two deviled eggs (33 cents each).
For dessert, I chose a yummy, not-too-sugary square of carrot cake ($1.18) and a small, dreamy, cream-filled eclair ($1.25). In the bargain basket, I snagged a 32-ounce box of butternut squash soup (99 cents)..
Both Keller stores make sandwiches but they're all made to go. The other Keller Farm Store is at 6100 Coors NW, 898-6121.
