Valley of Fires Recreation Area

Virtual Reality tour of the Valley of Fires Recreation Area. The lava beds were formed about 1500 years ago when near by Little Black Peak erupted. The flow is six miles wide, over 160 feet thick at the center and 44 miles long. The lava beds are off U.S. Highway 380 near Carrizozo.
