What's on the ballot?
The general election ballot starts with the presidential contest. One U.S. Senate seat and all three U.S. House seats are up for election in New Mexico this year. Because of local issues and offices and districted races, such as the U.S. House contests, ballot content will vary depending on where you live and vote. All 112 seats in the state Legislature are up for election this year. So are seats on: the state Supreme Court; state Court of Appeals; Public Regulation Commission; Public Education Commision and state District Courts. Some district attorney positions are on the ballot around the state. County government officials are to be elected. Voters will be asked to approve state and local bond issues and five proposed state constitutional amendments.
How do I get a sample ballot for the Nov. 4 general election?
Actual ballots will differ according to which districts and counties voters live in, including districts for the U.S. House, the state Public Regulation Commission, the Legislature and county government offices.
