Rain Finally Comes To N.M.
Associated Press
Another storm will provide a second burst of precipitation Thursday across much of New Mexico, the National Weather Service said.
The storm will sink into northwestern Mexico Friday, then weaken and wobble along the southwestern New Mexico border before fading into Mexico early next week.
Slight chances of precipitation should linger Saturday and Sunday for much of New Mexico.
The first storm was tracking across the state today from far southwestern New Mexico.
The weather bureau posted a flash flood watch today for the Sandia and Manzano mountains.
Showers and a few thunderstorms developed early this morning from the Continental Divide to near the New Mexico-Texas line.
Some thunderstorms produced hail ranging from one-quarter of an inch to one-half of an inch in diameter.
Santa Fe received 0.17 of an inch of rain, while 0.05 of an inch fell on Los Alamos and 0.02 of an inch dampened Albuquerque.
Low temperatures before sunrise ranged from 31 degrees at Gallup to 66 degrees at Carlsbad.
