Time to Appreciate the Real Superheroes, Mothers
I went with my daughter and three of my grandsons this past week to an end of the year production put on by Rio Rancho Elementary School's fifth-grade class. It was, basically, a tribute to America and covered many of our country's major hurdles since becoming a country. It was fantastic, with songs, recorders (flute type, not tape type), African drums (my favorite), Civil War battles, flappers and, of course, baseball. This production was held at Rio Rancho High in the Performing Arts Center and the kids, as well as the teachers and assistants, all performed at a near professional level.   (Saturday, May 10, 2008)

Pretty Moths Make Way for Destructive Larva
Q: I have been able to keep all of the tomatoes that I've planted, even with the chilly weather we've been having. Now, in the evening, I've been noticing big moths flying around the plants, hovering at the blooms, just like a hummingbird does! I see them at the annual flower planters I have, too. Do I need to be concerned about the moths?   (Saturday, May 10, 2008)
