Breaking the ICE

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Sometimes that dadgum monkey just won't leave without a fight. On Thursday, the University of New Mexico finally got that nasty Mountain West Conference tournament primate off its back, snapping a six-game losing streak here in the event. But it was a jungle in the Thomas & Mack Center. Air Force, a team with just one conference win in two years, wasn't intimidated by the Lobos' national ranking, by their 14-game winning streak or by their regular-season league title.
