Bodies of Missing Snowboarders Believed Found in Colorado
Associated Press CREEDE, Colo. The father of one of two missing snowboarders who went missing near the Wolf Creek Ski area in January said they have found the body of his son. Marc George, father of missing snowboarder Michael George, told the Rocky Mountain News that his son's body was found around 1 p.m. today. Wolf Creek Ski Area owner Davey Pitcher told the newspaper that a second body, believed to be Kyle Kerschen, was found several hours later. George and Kerschen, were both 27 and from Albuquerque, went missing on Jan. 5.

Proposals May Alter Balance of Power

Two proposals are in the works that could result in charter amendments that alter the balance of power at City Hall. The first would establish a task force to review the City Charter and propose revisions. The group would examine the "separation of powers between the legislative and executive branches" and whether some jobs -- such as the city attorney and city clerk -- should be independent of both the mayor and council.
Education Panel Hears Pay Hike Plan

As a first-year Level I education/health assistant at Truman Middle School, Felipa Coon earns $10.14 an hour. But if education assistants get the Legislature to pass their proposed minimum pay law, Coon would earn at least $12.68 an hour, or $15,100 a year.
Santa Fe Railyard Arts Center Analyzed

One of the last available spaces in the Santa Fe Railyard could be used as an arts incubator and a support space for local artists. Mayor David Coss was cautiously optimistic about the future of the Santa Fe Railyard Arts + Creativity Center after a meeting with the center's supporters last week.
Girl, 6, Killed in Las Vegas, N.M.

A 6-year-old girl was killed late Saturday night or early Sunday in an apparent homicide in Las Vegas, N.M. Although Las Vegas residents said they had heard that the girl died in a drive-by shooting, Las Vegas Police Chief Gary Gold would say only that the girl was killed "in a criminal way," according to KOAT-TV.
