NM Officials Call for Tomato Embargo
Associated Press SANTA FE The New Mexico Environment Department is urging people not to buy, eat, sell or serve food containing certain tomatoes believed to be linked to a salmonella outbreak. The department singled out raw red plum, red Roma and red round tomatoes grown and harvested in certain areas of Mexico or Florida unless cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
