APD: Man found dead on Charleston and Chico NE Sunday night

A man was found dead in a parking lot on Charleston near Chico NE Sunday night, according to a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department.

Officer Fred Duran said the man’s body was found shortly before 11 p.m. He said the man has not been identified.

“The death is being investigated as a homicide and the preliminary cause of death is a possible gunshot wound however detectives are awaiting the autopsy to confirm this,” Duran wrote in an email.

He said the investigation is ongoing and no suspects have been identified.
