Robert Platt, of Albuquerque, noticed he had the winning lottery numbers while working on his income tax return yesterday, said Linda Hamlin with the New Mexico Lottery.
Platt had been playing Hot Lotto for about four months. He chose to take the pre-tax cash option of $1.15 million.
The ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven at 7525 Montgomery Blvd, according to a news release.
Platt plans to retire his home loan and pay for his son’s law school loans.
New Mexico Lottery players holding two tickets worth at least $1 million from Saturday’s drawing have yet to come forward.
On Saturday night, a Hot Lotto ticket and a Powerball ticket matched winning numbers, according to a news release from the New Mexico Lottery. The Hot Lotto ticket won the jackpot worth $1.54 million.
The Powerball ticket, worth $1 million, matched the white ball numbers, but missed the Powerball and jackpot of $111.4 million, the release said.
